Kindle

I'm glad that I went to the trouble of producing monochrome and colour versions of the book, as both are selling- about two to one in favour of the coloured one.
At the moment I'm preparing the files for a Kindle e-book version. If all goes to plan it will be available in colour for ipad users and monochrome for Kindle users at about US$10. The conversion of the files to work well in Kindle will cost about as much as all the royalties earned so far on the print run....

I've had this Navigator pic for a long time, but can't find attribution for it, so it wasn't included in the book. Owen Sinclair has since kindly told me that the boat is Nigel McCarters, taken at Lake Taupo NZ . Thanks Owen, it is an iconic pic I think.

About supply options...

It is amazing how much difference there is in the royalties paid by the two e-store options given here. Createspace pays me twice the amount per book that Amazon does....I'm just mentioning this because writing for such a small market is certainly not something that you'd do if you expected to make any money, and it certainly wasn't my motivation, but the difference is notable....
I understand that some prospective buyers may already have Amazon accounts, or have come to trust the name, and that Createspace membership might seem a bit superfluous in their lives and interests, but it is certainly a much more meaningful payer of royalties!

It was wonderful of these people to be so encouraging, and I include their messages here.

'I recommend this, it has writing from several experienced Navigator skippers plus Roberts excellent text, lots of pics both of boats in build and of completed boats. While the subject matter is the Navigator of my design its good reading if you are an amateur boatbuilder, an aspiring dinghy cruiser or just interested in small boats.

Thanks Robert for the huge compliment.'

'I read parts of an early version of this book and it is absolutely fabulous.
Everything from the layout and art to the choice of stories to Robert's own
insightful writing is worth every penny. And frankly I think this book
really applies to any of John's designs and belongs under a whole bunch of
Christmas trees this year (and next year). I'm just sayin'.
